GameOver Zeus malware threat. What you need to know.

You may have heard recent news reports of a new GameOver Zeus malware which follows on from Cryptolocker virus found earlier in the year used to find and harness computer files that give access to banking and financial information, while Cryptolocker encrypts all files on a target’s computer and demands the user pays around £300 to unlock the file.

Our Recommendations:

  • Keep your computers and servers up to date with windows and patch updates from Microsoft.
  • Make sure you are running decent Antivirus software such as Sophos and up to date, run a full virus scan to be sure.
  • Be careful about opening any suspicious e-mail attachments even from known contacts, especially zipped up files.
  • Change any passwords if you think you may have been infected.

End of life for Windows XP

End of life for Windows XP

In two short weeks, Windows XP and Office 2003 support will be cut off – meaning your XP devices will soon suffer from major security holes without life-saving updates from Microsoft. Talk to us on upgrade options for your equipment.

Microsoft will no longer be releasing any more security updates to the average user. Security holes that are found won’t be fixed and your business computer will be at risk, even with the most up-to-date anti-virus and security protection programs.  We’ve recently constantly been upgrading our business clients to Windows 7, once refurbished and upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your machines will continue to receive security updates until January 14, 2020.
