You may have heard recent news reports of a new GameOver Zeus malware which follows on from Cryptolocker virus found earlier in the year used to find and harness computer files that give access to banking and financial information, while Cryptolocker encrypts all files on a target’s computer and demands the user pays around £300 to unlock the file.
- Keep your computers and servers up to date with windows and patch updates from Microsoft.
- Make sure you are running decent Antivirus software such as Sophos and up to date, run a full virus scan to be sure.
- Be careful about opening any suspicious e-mail attachments even from known contacts, especially zipped up files.
- Change any passwords if you think you may have been infected.
